Training for Settings and Parents
Parental engagement in early years education is consistently associated with children’s subsequent academic success. (Education Endowment Foundation)
Both staff and parents can benefit from joint training sessions as they will:
- have a shared language about the subject
- work collaboratively to support the child to achieve a goal
- use the same learnt strategies or techniques to provide consistency for the child
- build rapport and empathy to enable honest dialogue
